Position: Weekend Housekeeper/Cook, Live-Out

Location: Waterfront Estate in Norwalk, CT

Schedule:

· Friday, Saturday, and Sunday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (flexibility needed)

Compensation

· $45 per hour

· Two (2) weeks’ paid vacation (mutually agreed-upon dates)

Position Overview

A refined older couple is seeking an experienced, hands-on live-out Housekeeper/Cook for weekend coverage. This hybrid role also includes providing attentive support to help the couple live safely and comfortably. The role focuses on providing a full-service dinner, keeping the home tidy and organized, and supporting daily activities as needed. The ideal candidate is skilled at anticipating needs and preferences without being asked and has a calming presence. Housekeeping support will complement the existing Housekeeper, who handles deep cleaning and works 2.5 days per week.

Primary Responsibilities

Cooking & Kitchen Maintenance

· Provide a simple lunch (e.g., sandwiches) and a full-service dinner, primarily chicken/meat/fish with light vegetables. Ability to follow family recipes as requested.

· Prepare and serve an evening cocktail with simple hors d’oeuvres before dinner

· Anticipate and manage any kitchen equipment safety concerns given occasional forgetfulness of principal (e.g., stove/oven safety monitoring)

· Keep kitchen clean and organized

Housekeeping

· Perform daily light housekeeping, including laundry, tidying, and general upkeep of living spaces

· Coordinate vendor appointments for household repairs, deliveries, seasonal services, as needed

· Coordinate with the existing housekeeper to ensure continuity

· Monitor household and cleaning supplies and leave a note for the weekday housekeeper if additional supplies are needed

Companion/Support

· Assist with mobility around the home and light personal care as needed (e.g., wardrobe selection, grooming)

· Be aware of the whereabouts of Mrs., particularly when in the garden and outdoor areas

· Coordinate and accompany to medical appointments, hair appointments, and other outings

· Run local errands and provide local driving for appointments

· Assist with basic technology needs (email, computer access, phone use)

· Check in throughout the day and communicate any changes in health, comfort, or safety

Communication & Updates

· Text principals’ designated family member with questions and regular updates

· Proactively communicate unusual situations without waiting to be asked

Requirements and Key Qualities

· 5+ years’ housekeeping, cooking and support experience in a comparable private residence

· Ability to prepare healthy, well-balanced meals and follow recipes

· Highly organized with strong follow-through; takes ownership of outcomes

· Patient and even-keeled, with the emotional intelligence to support principals who may be resistant to help

· Strong written and verbal communicator

· Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

· Legally authorized to work in the USA
